cps color for 2011?

I've been doing some research on the "latest and greatest" CPS. It seems like there are 4 choices, but it there any benefits? seems like the dark gray with a purple o-ring (IH 1876736C91), and the gray ford factory replacement are the best options? can someone please go straight to the point on this topic? i didn't see the part # listed on the sticky for the IH part either...

The gray one is one of the worse.

the black and the dark gray one seem to have the best results.

but the whole thing of it is, is how the CPS is shimmed to the timing gear.

To close or too far and it will get odd readings.

I have a Motorcraft, the dark grey with the purple O-Ring. It works fine for me without shimming it or anything.

definatively dark gray(grey) with a purple o-ring is the best bet. thank you, would you happen to have a part # for that? now as for shimming, what is the dimension we are trying to reach when shimming?

Motorcraft F4TZ-12K073-C
I don't know anything about shimming, though.

the clearance between the end of the CPS and the timing gear should be, IIRC between .3 and .4

I got one of every color in my tool box but I use the dark gray, purple O ring.
