GPR LED

It's real easy, just did mine a few weeks ago. Hook a wire up to the big post on the GPR that doesn't have power when the truck is off. Mine was the one on the right when your facing it from the front of the truck. This way when the GPR turns on, your LED lights up.
Fuse the wire with a 1-3 amp mini fuse, run the wire to the cab, hook up the LED (Be sure to test to make sure you got the pos. and neg. right), drink beer.

GPR LED won't tell you when it's ready to start. It is an indicator to let you know the GPR operated.
The LED illuminates as long as the GPR is operated. The GPR, depending on oil temp, will stay operated
for up to 2 minutes per the manual (some say they have seen their's stay opreated longer).
This is the typical installation. Where you mount the LED is your choice.

Man I Love This Forum!!!!! You guys are GREAT. Would I ground the light to a universal ground on the truck, kind of like the one my radio is ground to?
I had been going thru a winter of hard starts. At first I found GPR was bad and replaced it. Still was having problems and recently learned that the WTS light did not mean that the GPR had kicked off. Started timing a minute + before starting depending on temps. and it has been doing good. Wife drives it more than I do and she has been waiting 2 minutes. Thought this light would do good.
Thanks for all the help.

Unless extremely cold 2 minute wait isn't necessary. Waitung that long can be a catch-22 situation. As the batteries age waiting 2 mnutes can drain the batts to the point where you may encounter a no start due to not having 10+ volts while cranking. At 15° degrees I wait 40 seconds (approx the time it takes fuel pimp to cycle twice). That is what works best for me. Less time at warmer temps. Each truck can be different so you need to experiment a little with your wait time. Also if you wait until GPR releases and do not cycle the key the GPs will not be on when you start. It helps if the GPs are still glowing at start. Less smoke as well.
