Besides what I already have are there any misc. resonably priced mods to look into for spring projects? I have the tuner, valve body, gauges, exaust, and turbo wheel already convered.Any input is appreciated. Thanks
That done, FRX, HPX, Hutch/harpoon fuel tank come to mind. Same with a tranny cooler, Clay has the derale for 110 or so i think, its what I put on mine.
Perfect....so is it worth getting the tranny cooler even though I have 190k on the truck with the original tranny? Or wait til she goes then get it?
If it doesn't run hot now, dont' worry about it! Do you have a trans temp gauge?
My vote is CAC boots and up-pipes. Nothing else mentioned is gonna return improved MPG's or any more HP. Maybe invest in an AE so if ya do have problems in the future, you'll be a leg up on getting them solved!!
yep I have a temp gauge....so I take it Riffraff would be the place to go for the CAC boots and up pipes? And whats the deal with the up pipes? Never heard of either mod.Must have been off the computer too long I guess.

Yes, Riffraff.
The CAC boots have a better seal than factory and have less of a tendency to leak over time. They are also stiffer, so they don't balloon under high boost and create more space for the 'boost' to fill. Oh, and they look good too!
I have rarely seen a PSD that did not have leaky up-pipes. These pipes go from exhaust manifolds to the turbo and they seal at the 'tee' that feeds the turbo with old fashioned exhaust donuts. Over time, the expansion/contraction (movement) of the pipes inside the donuts creates leaks. International used a 'bellowed' design that better allows for this inevitable movement and provides a better and longer lasting seal. Leaks here = less boost, higher EGT's and lower MPG's.
Another strong contributor to this problem is the .84 (ish) exhaust housing on the stock turbo. This often creates a tremendous amount of backpressure (aka drive pressure) before the turbo. We'd really like to see close to a 1:1 ratio between drive pressure and boost pressure (the other side of the turbo). The stock housing often generates 2-3x as much drive pressure as boost!!
I think you can get an Int'l 1.0 exhaust housing for your stock turbo for just over $300. This would be another good bang for your $$$ that will provide a SOTP's increase in power (and also eliminate turbo 'surge' in most trucks).
While you are at it, its under $100 for parts to 'rebuild' your stock turbo yourself.
I have the fuel pressure gauge and valve body already.......Front shocks are about four years old and rear about one year.....Now I just have to find the time to look up what all them mod abbreviations are........been gone way too long
