71-79 should work. I've got a '71 on my '65.

61 to 64 do not share the same pattern as 65 and up.

There are no direct bolt on ford truck boosters from later 65 and up units.

To mount a later unit you need to rework the steel master cylender reinforcement to accept the wider and taller pattern. Or go with an aftermarket unit form MPB or others.

Follow what Garbz is advising you. I had to order a set of brackets to bolt my booster to the firewall. I think I listed the part numbers in the tech article on power brakes.

airharley, could you please post a link to that article? I would like to read up on it.

Also, generally does garbz's advice hold for a '66 F250 as well?

Nonoodlez there are a few people on here that I would trust handing my truck over to repair. He is definately one of them. He is a wealth of knowledge concerning all sorts of topics.

The article can be found under the Articles/Specs tab at the top of the webpage. But here is the link to the article.

Installation of Manual or Power Brakes Disc Brakes in a 1957 - 1964 F100 .: Articles

There is another article for the 65 and up trucks in there as well. Or I believe there is one.

Great thanks!

The articles links seem to be down right now. They are giving me an:

Fatal error: Smarty error: unable to write to $compile_dir '/var/www/ford-trucks.com/html/article/var/templates_c'. Be sure $compile_dir is writable by the web server user. in /var/www/ford-trucks.com/html/article/third_party/smarty/libs/Smarty.class.php on line 1102

I will try later and see if they are back up...

You can also search the site to pull it up.

I take that back. It is down when I manually entered it as well.

Not to but in but; my buddy used a 2nd genreation Mustang Brake booster, I'm (havn't yet) installing a 08's Ranger bosster in my 64. just a though & yes; the bracket holds are different; I'm also going to install a Dentside tilt steering column as well. (Yes there will be modification on my steering cloumn; but doable and looks right!).

So basically what you are saying is that I can pull a booster from pretty much anywhere and the most I will have to do is modify my brackets?

Yes, I bought a set meant for a 64 Chevy and drilled a set of lower bolt holes to align with my firewall. That was the extent of bracket mods I did.
