IIRC F250 6 Litre (I think was his handle?) had one for sale very recently. Just make sure you buy it from a KNOWN member (tunes are not important) and that it has more than one "unlock" left OR that they give you compensation to send it to have it unlocked by SCT.

Just an added comment if you buy a tuner that has been returned to stock before it was removed and has at least one unlock left then you are ready for your own custom tunes, however if you have the same strategy as he has then you can use his custom tunes. I had the good luck to buy a tuner unlocked and also got the three custom tunes as we had the same strategy.
Is there a way to check your strategy before purchasing a tuner?
Do SCT's use a lock per truck?
The tuner will show your strategy but you will probally have to get yours scanned by dealership or some independent shop if you don't know your strategy..the way i understand it is you get 5 locks or unlocks and you use a lock everytime you move it to a different strategy...
Several months ago I wanted to know my strategy so I stopped by a local shop and struck up a conversation with owner and he ended up using his tuner to find out my strategy and didn't charge me a thing. I sure will think about him if I ever need some work..
Reading strategies and codes doesn't count as a life. You use a "life" on your tuner every time you TUNE a different VIN number. If you go from vehicle A to vehicle B you use a life. If you go back to A you use a life, etc.

Thanks for that clarification, thats what I was thinking but just wasn't positive.
I have an unlocked SCT X3 with 5 unlkocks remaining in new condition. I used it on my F150 and set it back to stock before selling it. Lets discuss if you are still looking for one.
I'll post a pic of the info screen showing that it's unlocked with 5 remaining later today.
Can some of you give some advise on what the value of an unlocked (5 remaining) SCT X3, p/n 3000 programmer with no tunes is? I know I paid $450 for it with 3 custom tunes for my F150 from Troyer Performance 4 or 5 years ago.
