Dumb Question!
I like to look at trucks for sale on Ebay and Auto Trader...... not really looking to buy, just enjoy looking. Noticed a few Rangers listed as prerunners...... maybe I don't get out enough, but WHAT is a prerunner??

I dont know about rangers, but there have been manufacturers that use the term "prerunner" as an option package or a style package and does not mean all that "real" off road gear.
Looking a little, Toyota does this...check out this truck called a "prerunner"

it is basically a truck that looks and might be modified like an off truck but is 2 wheel drive

A "real" pre-runner is used as a vehicle that is driven to pre-run an off-road race course, (before the real race). That way, they can become familiar with the course without wearing out the real race truck. Driven on-road, they look cool.
