i have a 390 not sure what its out of but it has differnet motor mounts, i think it is a 65 or older because it only has two holes for the mount, do they make a mount for this motor in my truck, or any suggestions on how to make it work
I don't know anything about the mounts, sorry. As far as what the engine is out of, if you post the casting numbers from the block, heads, and/or intake and we can tell you what they mean and what they are out of.
my friend who has a 75 also bought a 2 bolt block rebuilt and didnt realize it was different than the Truck 4 bolt mount.I suggested making a metal plate to offset the difference between the two mounts. basically he bolted the mount to the plate and the plate to the block its not much maybe an inch maybe inch and half. anyways he used a peice of metal and made it work......pretty easy however the block will sit higher by the thickness of the metal you use
