Its the smooth inner bore that lets the cap slip off. My RTV fix is still holding but I wonder if roughing the first 3/8 or 1/2" of the bore would'nt allow the stock cap to remain in place?
Great advice. I love my Marinco mod, but it's been hanging open and in bad weather I get home and find it packed with snow/ice. I'll have to give it a try.
Ok, what is the Marinco mod? My computer will not open the pictures so I can't go there.
Marinco is a brand name - we are using a recessed male 110v plug mounted in the bumper to hook up the block heater. Its cleaner than the dangly cord Ford gave us and I prefer to place it on the driver-side of the bumper so I SEE the cord as I'm getting in the truck!!
Here's a link: (mine were cheaper from Bass Pro Shops... but its been a few years)
Has anyone had an issue with what Heavy Duty extension cord female plug size.
I just installed a Marinco plug and couldn't plug the new Heavy Duty extension cord plug into it. I am thinking about just cutting the end off and putting a new smaller female end on.
pics of your setup appreciated!

All of my cords fit... The block heater is 1000watts or (only) 8.3 amps - size your cord accordingly.
I like the cords with lighted plugs, they help me remember to unplug them when its dark...................
