I have been reviewing the wealth of information on this site for a couple of months now and finally decided to pull the trigger on a 2011 powerstroke. Went to two dealers today but could not strike a deal. One was within acceptable price range but would not lock in incentive when ordering truck. The other went as far as showing me the paper that allowed them to lock in incentives from ford when ordering but was way off on price. Does anyone know where I can find the document from ford that says it is ok to lock in incentives when ordering. I need a playmate for my 99 7.3.
I got a flyer in the mail last week - I thought it was from FORD - 0 for 66 I threw it away as I already bought mine. - I read last week that they had 0 percent in Texas as well. it was on this forum - you might be able to find it on page 3-6.

My Dealer, Pingrey Ford in Washington State would have locked in the rebates. They ended up finding a truck just as I wanted it, so I did not have to order it. The dealers in Western Washington would not have locked in the rebates and wanted MSRP. Actually they acted like that didn't care if they sold a truck. It is strange how the Western Washington dealers could not find the truck!
I wondered about the Trade Assist rebate of $1000. Says any car 1995 or newer. So can I go buy a $200 beater, title it and then trade it in and get my $1000?
I get some cash back or 1k back and 4.9 at 60 months. No big deal. I never got the zip code thing. Do the deals vary that much across the country? I would love 0 percent but don't see it...............
Your best bet is to go find the largist volume dealer in the area and hit them first. smaller dealers tend to be a little tighter on deals while focusing more on "quality of service"
I have never heard of being able to lock in an incentive. Incentives are only available during the dates it is active and you have to take delivery during those dates, not just order. As someone else explained, when you order as far as Ford is concerned the dealership ordered the vehicle, not you. It does not have your name on it until you take delivery. If they say they are locking in the incentives they are most likely not giving you the best deal so they can cover the cost of the incentive if it goes away. Or, out of the kindness of their heart they are going to cover it with some of their dealer rebates if it changes. I think refer to option 1 most likely.
Maybe someone with inside knowledge could chime in.
The dealer that would not lock in the incentives was knocking off $9340 off msrp including rebates this seemed to be a good deal to me. The other dealer would not come within 1500 of this price. Am I being unreasonable in asking for this deal?
Does anyone understand how the math works on the current "incentives and offers" page on the Ford website? I see a potential discrepancy for my zip code (95762) where it says get up to $4500 cash back. However, neither of the options add up to $4500. The cash purchase offer is $500 retail customer cash, $1000 Ford Credit retail customer cash, and $1000 promotional retail bonus customer cash = $2500. There's an additional $500 for police & $500 for military which I do not qualify for, but even if that's added into the equation, that's still only $3500. The Finance purchase offer is only $1000 Ford Credit retail bonus customer cash plus some average APRs. The top of the page says get up to $4500, but the detail in either scenario (cash vs finance) doesn't add up. May warrant a call to Ford for clarification, not sure if anyone else is seeing a similar scenario.
In my opinion, if you are not eligible for X-plan, join an organization that makes you eligible like EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association). Then go in and tell them you have an X-plan pin, what is the price, take off the incentives available at delivery, and have a nice day. No discussion, no haggling.
Some say they can do a better deal, great, but for the extra $500 or so it isn't worth my time or aggravation going back and forth.
If your deal is at X-plan pricing or better,(ask him to see the dealer invoice all the plan prices are on it) then it's a good deal. IMHO
Again, the gamble with ordering is the incentives, you don't know for sure what will be avail. when you take deliver. Could be better, could be worse.
OK, disregard my previous post. I just figured it out and noticed that the page seems to default to gas engines. When I change it to deisel, the retail customer cash goes from $500 to $1500. Looks like w/o police or military, current max incentives for my zip are $3500.
This does raise one other question. If you go in with your own financing already lined up, does Ford treat that as a "cash" purchase where you still get the $1000 Ford Credit retail bonus customer cash?
