Anyone know where I can get the ceramic filters used in the glass bowl fuel filters.

i could be wrong on this, but, it seems to me that the new fuels can possibly plug or "melt" these filters? worth asking before investing.

The ones I'm familiar with are porous bronze elements. But there are thousands of clear fuel filters on the market, what one do you have?

The stock filter on the bottom of the fuel pumps were sediment type without a filter. They depended on gravity to collect the junk on the bottom of the bowl.

So there is not an element in this type? I have a glass bowl that looks just like this on my 57' plymouth and it has a ceramic looking filter inside.

There should be a bronze/brass screen at the very top, same diameter as the glass bowl. No other element.

Ross, you're correct, I was just thinking about the question of the ceramic element.

According to NumberDummy there was a filter in them. Check out this link where he gives the details.

i have seen them with and without. as long as brass screen is in place, with inline filter before pump, there should be no issues.

I have seen trucks driving around with missing or loose parts over the years. Not just the fuel filter. Notably, the nut is loose behind the steering wheel!
