Just installed mine and noticed it buzzes and hums when you energize it with the key, then times out...

Anybody else have one that makes noise? I checked all the voltages and it is working correctly.

No problems with mine.

I would call NAPA and see what they say.

If you take it back for replacement.. see if they have this one in stock..

Store Locator | NAPA Online
Its a heavier duty one.. I read about it last year & installed it & haven't had a problem with it..

I have one of the GPR 109 in my truck and it does the same thing. Makes it easier to tell if it's working..lol...

Mine makes noise too. The 109 is rated for 130 continuous amps, Stancor is 200 cont. Our glow plugs operate at 197 amps. The 109 is working hard. I think they're good for a back up.

Stancor is the only GPR I'll run from now on. I was burning up stockers every 10 months, after the 5th one I went with the Stancor and haven't changed one since, that was 2 years ago.

OK, I paste the link from the website. but I see the locate store link keeps showing up..


Anyhow the part I am refering to is the ECH St36 from napa...

specs are
For 12 Volt Systems, Continuous Duty, 200 Amp, Insulated Coil 14-16 Ohms;

I've had mine for over a year & its still working good

My GPR109 has no problems after a year, and I know it's working, noise or no noise. Only takes once forgetting to wait for the WTS light to realize on the 2nd start that it is working.
