Mine makes noise too. The 109 is rated for 130 continuous amps, Stancor is 200 cont. Our glow plugs operate at 197 amps. The 109 is working hard. I think they're good for a back up.
Stancor is the only GPR I'll run from now on. I was burning up stockers every 10 months, after the 5th one I went with the Stancor and haven't changed one since, that was 2 years ago.
My GPR109 has no problems after a year, and I know it's working, noise or no noise. Only takes once forgetting to wait for the WTS light to realize on the 2nd start that it is working.
