1997 Taurus Fans
I got a pair of 12 electric fans out of a 97 Taurus.
These are the 2 speed variety, and I have a qustion about how to hook them up.
Black wire = ground
Red wire = ?
Red/White wire = ?
I tried looking up a wiring diagram, but came up craps on that roll.
I think each fan should pull 10-12 amps on high so a 30 amp relay would be fine. I have no AC or other amenities so it won't be on to much.
Also does anybody know how many CFM each one pulls? In both settings would be cool.

I haven't played with the Taurus fans, but have with a number of GM fans. Ground is simple enough. The other two wires are for low and high speed. We set the fans down flat on a large table and hooked up the wires to figure out which wire corresponds with which speed.

The Taurus/Sable electric fans were troublesome turds from day one. Used parts won't last very long (if they work at all). I suggest using something from the aftermarket sector.

Based on the title, I thought this thread had to do with people who liked the 1997 Taurus!
My first thought was - "was there ever a FAN of the '97 Taurus!?!"

That's what I thought too!
I kept thinking...."wow, now there's a guy who really needs to find a different car to become devoted to!"

Well I guess I will post up after I make my fan shroud.
I got the fans for free, and I will need a relay unit anyways.
So if I replace my fans with better one it really only cost me a few bucks in glass.
