Mods for dually?

Looking to mod my dually for fuel economy and a little more power.
What can I do? I'm thinking the big 3 first. Chip, exhaust, air intake. What else? Oh and I will be doing wvo soon. I don't tow more than 5,000 hardly ever.

First things first....Intake, exhaust and then GAUGES! Pyro at the very least... After that you can chip it. Then drive it. If you want more then it starts getting expensive.

Everybody has been on my azz since I modded my excursion cause I never had gauges. Don't see the need for them. 3 years so far and no problems.

Do what you want. You also have an intercooler on that Ex, you don't on the OBS. If it melts down the first time you run it with your chip and stock downpipe with a crap intake, don't say I didn't give you fair warning.

Nope. Not building another fast truck. Fuel economy for daily driver and towing cars to and from Louisiana. Maybe Having a little fun on the side laying down some black smoke.

At least get yourself a Pyro... If you want boost, you can get that as well.

You mean the most amount of boost makes better mpg? I deleted the waste gate on my excursion and got better mpg and more power. It's in full boost all the time.

I'd rather see temps or pressures than boost. EGT, Pyro, oil PSI, fuel PSI, etc... Boost is cool I guess but for mileage you don't need to see it. Mike is saying that try to make as little boost as possible when accelerating and you'll see a mileage increase. Well, there is only so slow you can accelerate. The biggest dynamic on economy is the skinny pedal. I drive pretty much like a grandma because I can barely afford fuel but I do still like to romp it some. There is no doubt after a tank when I had a little fun or not
