Hi, 1st time site user, I found a thread regarding spare tire key so helpful I'm going to try the front end issue. My truck is an 01 with 145,000 miles.
It has a clunking noise {feels like under my feet} when hitting a hole or rough road and also when I turn the wheel hard there is an aggressive constant popping in front end. I did have the ball joints replaced and an alignment done and still no fix. Not much help from the garages. Thanks
As 1975 said, check the swaybar endlinks and the frame to swaybar bushings. I had the same problem and it was the two frame to swaybar bushings that was the culprit.
Unreal, I can't believe I have been dealing with the front end feeling like its falling apart for so long. Took my employee (mechanic) 30 minutes to change arms and sway bar bushings. Test drive and problem is solved thank you for your experience and knowledge. Btw ford nor napa sells the arm bushings seperate anymore but it didnt matter I was glad to.have it finally fixed
