I have recently purchased a 1956 f100 and the truck has a badly damaged hood and fenders. The previous owner has fenders and a hood from a 1954 f250, that I could have for the 1956 I am not sure if they will fit the 56 cab. Any information would be greatly appreciated.:

I could be wrong ( just ask the wife ) but I am pretty sure you should be good with the 54 pieces... grille is different, but I think the fenders and hood work fine.

If the fenders and hood are interchangeable between a '54 and '56 they work but the F-250 fenders will have a bigger wheel opening than the F-100's. The hood would work, again as long as the hoods are interchangeable between the different years. Cabs, hoods and grills are interchangeable between the models of their own individual year.

I hope I didn't sound confusing.

Not completely true.

Yes the hood and fenders will fit. The fenders might be the same as the 56 F100 fenders. That really depends on the size of the tires that came on the 54.

All fenders and hoods from 53-56 Ford trucks will interchange with each other except for the Cab over( COE ) parts. So they will bolt on with out any problems. Just so you know my project is a 54 and I'm running a 56 F250 hood and 56 F600 front fenders.

That being said there are differences like each year has their own grille and front valance ( 55& 56 same valance ). The hoods will have different side emblems and corresponding emblem mounting holes. But a 54 hood will bolt on a 56 truck.

The fenders will also bolt up but there were a couple different wheel well openings. The 1953/56 F100/250/350 that used the 15, 16 or 17.5" wheels all had the small wheel well openings. Then you had the 1954/55 F250 that used the 17" wheels, 1953/56 F350/500/600 / that used the 17" wheels and 1956 F250/350/500/600 / that used the 19.5 or 22.5" wheels that had a large wheel well opening. There were also a couple different big truck ( F700+ ) fenders.

Here's a 56 F250 with the small wheel well opening fenders. The openings look a little weird at that angle but they are the same as the F100.

Here's a comparison of the F100 and small F250 fender compared to the large opening fender. The F100 fenders are a little hard to see the openings due to the paint color but you get the idea.
