I have a late year 05 6oh that unplugging the egr DEFINITELY lites up the cel....
I did however, get a tuner that turns off the egr and no cel...
And time has eroded some of the negatives about the egr..... most of the reading from VERY knowledgeable guys here suggest the oil cooler is more of the issue than the egr...

Mine was built 12-04. Do you have the latest flash? If so did unplugging the EGR trigger a CEL with an older flash too?
I deleted my EGR over 12k miles ago. Have never had a CEL, I also got the newest flash at the time of the delete because the tech that installed it worked for Ford.
Wow - It seems like there's no clear answer. Many of those that responded got a CEL/code, but at least 1 or 2 did not. I can't explain that one ! You'd think all 05's would behave the same.
I think I might just keep the EGR and go with the Bullitproof EGR cooler and pass on the delete kit. I don't want the hassle of dealing with a CEL/code/possible limp mode, and I don't have a tuner to crutch a fix.
My 05 didn't throw a cel with the egr unplugged. When I did the egr delete, I left the valve in and plugged in even though the cooler is gone and blocked off and I have a solid up pipe installed. I don't get a CEL, but I get a code thrown that doesn't trigger the CEL every once and awhile for low EGR flow it doesn't seem to affect drivability.
