2011 Fx4 Ecoboost vs 5.0

If my memory remains intact, I recall reading somewhere on The Truth About Cars website that the little 2.2L Mahindra diesel only gets 26 mpg.
IMO, considering the goal of mpg and the fact that he's been tooling around in an Acura TL, he'd do better than a truck looking at something like a Volkswagen CC in some kind of LUX trim which really does get 21/31 mpg with the TDI or 17/25 mpg with their V6 and really looks great.
If he follows through with the Acura MDX then he should get with the tech package and either white or black with tan interior to hold up best for resale value.

Sorry, as far as the colors I was simply talking about instrumentation not the colors inside really though I don't really have any problems with those either. I'm not looking at Lariats nor Patinums, just the XLTs so we simply may not be comparing the same things.
I drove the EB though and absolutely loved it. Can't wait to get one but I'm not sure I want to order one and wait...

A friend of mine has a 320d, I think he said it gets around 40-50, though not sure if he was converting that to US gallons from UK gallons. Either way, I think 60 is a slight stretch.

[quote=1oldBronc;10031015]Whoever gave you these numbers is driving with an egg under their foot. I have 2,000 miles on a 2011 5.0 4X4 Lariat with a 3.73 rear. The best I could do was 16.3 actual on a 260 mile trip across CA. The sync said 16.8. That equates to about 550 miles per tank on the highway, a LONG way from those numbers. A only can get about 13 MPG in the city.
These guys (the regulars) are right. Dont buy a truck for the mileage, and if you do, get the base motor.
You hit it on the head! Dont buy a truck for the mileage. I could care less what my mpg's it gets, its a nice truck thats big, will tow what I need, tons of room for family, and ITS A TRUCK. If I wanted to get good mpg's I would buy a 4cyl 2wd tacoma or just drive a civic.

BMW 3 Series 320ED driven full road test car review - BBC Top Gear - BBC Top Gear
Your friend probably has the older 320D, i was referring to the newest model in the line, the 320ED (Epic Diesel?)

Your mileage in a F150 is going to be less than half that of anything else you've thrown out as a comparison. Furthermore I still don't understand why you are comparing trucks to cars.
Go buy a car and be done with it.

My thoughts are that you don't know what you want and are not going to be happy with whatever you buy. Comparing a truck to an Audi A4 and a Fusion sport?

So I'm trying to decide between a 1980's K-car, a 1960's Shelby Cobra (original, not a kit), and a early '90s Chevy Mud truck...which one do you guys think would fit my needs the best?
Sorry OP, but I have to agree with MrPosi...I feel like you don't know what you're looking for.
