I apologize for this thread, but I'm getting a little anxious with the truck not running. Checked all the GP's last night and they were all working, but decided to replace the GPR as I was getting a lot of smoke on cold mornings. This morning it didnt start at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How cold was it ?
How old are the batteries ? Were they fully charged?..
It was about 25-30 deg. Don't know about the batteries, I've had the truck about 6 months. I'm not hearing the block heater come on, but how do you "short" the GPR?
It should fire right up with the heater plugged in. You can Ohm it out and see if it is OK. It should Ohm out at about 15. You may need to clean/change the end. Get all that green chit off it. Scratch the prongs up with some sand paper.

Clamp a jumper cable clamp on the two large terminals ....
If you have someone to help you , you can use a screw driver too ..
24/7 technical help!
You could use this site as a selling point for these trucks!
CONGRATS!!! you have reached 25 posts! You should be able to add a signature (upper left in the blue bar "User CP". If you can't add it today...you will be able to add it tomorrow (after the mod "OK's" it).
Thanks again guys. Just found a few things. As I went to replace the block heater plug, the ground wire was crumbling all the way to about 10in past the plug. I replaced all the bad wire and plug. We put a screw driver across the 2 main terminals of the GPR and had spark with key off, but no spark with the key on. Does this mean the GPR is bad or good. I can't believe how much knowledge ya'll have about these trucks. I'm trying to learn all I can!

You should have spark with the key on or off . THe gpr gets its power from the PCM sending ground to it ...Its case isolated ...
One post is always hot (12V) the circuit is complete when the unit is grounded . (hot both sides ) can be tested with a meter ...Should be at least battery voltage .. What happens when you jump the GPR ? ....
With the key off, the test light will show power to the 12volt constant, large terminal on the left. With the key on, the test light will light up on both large terminals

Yes , but if is burned inside (contacts ) ,It won't carry the load necessary to power up the GP's ...
