First off i apologize if i have posted this in the wrong spot...I want to introduce myself to you all and say hello. I own a 1974 F 250 High Boy bought it from its original owner and have the build sheet of the truck that he obtained when he bought the truck new in 9-21-73 the engine has been changed from the 360 to a 390 but it still retains its factory 4 speed and the Dana 60's front and rear with limited slip differentials that he special ordered for the truck.
I am new the site but i have owned fords all of my adult life and with one exception have never deviated from them....yeah i am some what brand loyal.
Anyway Hello everyone and its will be a pleasure to meet you all.
Welcome to FTE! You'll get alot of great info off here. Before I thought I had knew my fords but talkin' to these guys it blew my mind. The guys on here are really great with helping everyone.
And we are off to the races, my learning curve went vertical when I quit lurking and joined FTE. I have learned what to do and what not to do, an alot of what to try.
Welcome to FTE, we all love truck **** AKA "pictures" of what you got truck wise. Sounds like you got a nice rig with a little difference.
What are your plans with the truck, a daily driver or weekend hauler? Keep us posted and ask away on ANY question about them ol trucks.
DISCALIMER: you might not always like what you get for an answer, but you asked.
Thank you everyone...the only pics i have are in my album but i will add more as time progresses...as for the Dana 60's i am going by what is printed on the build sheet and what the PO has told me about the truck....as a side note i would add pics here if i were smart enough to figure out how to do so but apparently it is rocket science to me and beyond my realm of understanding of how to do so.

User CP always helps too.
There is also a size limit to the pics you upload. I think it's 800x600 pixels. If you need to resize an image on your computer, you can right click it and open in paint, then click resize and type in the pixels, save and you're ready to upload.
Thanks again for the warm welcome everyone i appreciate that...I have already learned alot from the site just in the few days that i have been here and the few extra days that i visited before i signed up....So here are the only pics i have of my latest love ( Dont tell the wife i said that ).
I will add more later as i get them she is rough but she is solid in all the places that count most.
Looks like a really nice project. I'm still suspicious over that front being a 60 though. Whatever it is, it's definitely an LP axle, and the hub just looks like a 44's to me. Quick way to tell though, get a wrench on diff cover, if it's 1/2" it's, a 44 if it's 9/16" it's a 60.
Welcome to FTE! You'll get a lot of great information here about your truck .... and information about stuff you may not actually care about too! Just take it all in and enjoy your communications here with your new buds!
Dak
I plan on making it a daily driver/ mild offroad vehicle Zenmaster. I would eventually like to get it all back to as original as possible with a few exceptions of a steering mod possibly a ram assist or maybe saginaw power steering box.....i love the idea of the ram assist though.
Plan on painting her Black pearl with a midnight blue metalic down the dent and gold pinstriping alongside that....Changing the headlights to the Hella headlight replacement and doing the relay upgrade for the wiring is my priority at this point.
I dont plan on doing much else beyond just the normal cancer repair figure that will occupy my time greatly this summer.
704 Dentside i did the quick check you advised about and it is a Dana 44 if i go by that the diff cover. It does have 1/2 inch bolt heads....a little disapointed in that ( would have had better bragging rights ) but still very happy to finally have a truck that i have wanted since i was 16 years old so no great worries there.
I have owned in the past a 78 2 wheel drive with the 300 straight 6 in it backed by the 4 speed and an 85 ford bronco that i transplanted a 351 w in......not to bad for 27 years of driving...only owned one brand different and that was a 75 powerwagon but that discussion i will leave out of this forum for fear of being hung by the neck until dead.
Anyway i hope that gives everyone a little better understanding of me, my old truck and some of the future plans.
