Anybody disconnected the EGR valve on a 6.4? I disconnected the EGR on a 6.0 last year while in CA pulling a 13000 lb 5th wheel. Truck computer said I had gotten 10.1 mpg on the trip from Louisiana to CA. On the way home, it said the mpg was 12.1. That's a 20% increase. On a 400 mile trip empty at 70mph, the computer showed 19.9 mpg (compared to about 15 with the EGR functioning). Unfortunately, I let a Ford dealer re-flash the truck and it all went away.
Curious what happens with the 6.4 under same conditions? Any ideas?
Charlie
I think that there are tuners that shut down the EGR and only allow it to operate at idle. I think I read that somewhere. Hopefully someone will chime in that knows for sure.
Thanks for the info, but I'm really looking for somebody who has just unplugged the electrical feed to the valve to find out what happened.
Anybody out there?

it would probably throw a code the first time the ecm told it to open and it didn't.
I would love to block those off and delete the dpf but I am afraid my 7yr./100000 mi. esp and 7yr./200000 diesel warranty would be voided. I paid a lot of cash for those extended warranties from the dealer.
