im not very knowledged in trucks and i have '90 f150 lariat and the engine shakes alot when stopped or moving, and when i take my foot off the accelerator, it slows down quicker than normal - or when i barely touch the break, like it catches or something.
also when im stopping the truck shakes real bad, do i need to re-align my wheels, get the brakes checked out or what? thanks
Check the front brakes for the stopping, also I would have the transmission checked, and then the timing. How does it perform? any trouble with acceleration?
oh yeah the acceleration is kind of bad - when i accelerate after being stopped it takes a while for it to get up to speed, like its lagging or something
I would replace the spark plugs, but I would start at the front brakes, does it shake really bad at a stoplight? Or just when you first start it? By uour first post sounds like your timing chain could be going south or even a head gasket... Does it blow white smoke out the tail pipe all the time?
I don;t mean to alarm you with the possibiliies I'm thinking out loud.....
If they're old the can be burnt out to where they are chaning the timing causing a rough idle, I know this because when I bought my van in 2000 the plugs were burnt out to .060, they should only be .044
