My mom passed on 12/17/2010 after a three year battle with a rare autoimmune disease. Its a tough thing to deal with and I am glad to see things are working out for your mom.
I hope it all works out well for you. I have been there and back when it comes to dealing with the health care system so if you need any help with that or anything else please don't hesitate to pm me.
Mom called me today. She sounds stronger. We talked for 30 minutes before her voice started giving out again. This is the longest we've been able to talk.
She is still in the "Assisted Care Facility", for lack of a better term practically across the street from UC-Davis Medical Center. She has an MRI scheduled for Tuesday to check her brain.
Her carotid arteries were checked today, too. They show less than 50% blockage, which is less than before the heart attack, so I'm hoping the medications are working as expected.
The doctor's think she MIGHT be ready for discharge sometime around the 18th. Won't know for sure until after the Tuesday appointment. She still hasn't been informed of the appointment at the end of this month, so I'll need to contact my sister for an update on that.
Keep the prayers and good thoughts coming, please. They're definately working.
thats great to hear, keep up the positive attitude and get some rest i'm sure this has been stressfull on all of you.thoughts and prayers from colorado.
This past Monday, Mom was readmitted to the UC-Davis Medical Center due to severe coughing and vomitting.
She's back at the assisted care facility. She had an intestinal virus going on. They gave her a bunch of antibiotics and she's responding well to them.
Mom has a cardiac follow-up on 4/28 so it looks like I'm heading to Seattle on 4/26 to have my shoulder surgeries on 4/27 as planned.
