I have a 97 f350 crew cab and I'm looking to put an intercooler on it. I have found a 99 super duty that has the intercooler, tubing and spyder pipe. Is it worth taking the 99 super duty intercooler system and placing it on my 97? How hard would it be to retro fit it to my pickup. Thanks for your help.

What mods do you have or are planning to do? Im asking this because the IC is worth with some mods, I dont think that with the stock engine you need an IC.
Is it an early 99 IC?
I was looking at a banks intercooler and it looks really cool and looks like it would work well but i dont know the price on it. It also would be cool to build your own kit. I look forward to hearing how you made out.
Banks is well made, well engineered, but very very expensive stuff. Most stuff can be had at a fraction of that price. The banks intake spider is also very well made... again very expensive.
I don't have much done yet. I have a cold air intake, 4" straight pipe, FPR Shim, Stancor GPR getting a TS chip and looking into rosewood stage's 1 injectors. The intercooler is at a good price and figured if it will work I will pick it up and hold on to it.
Sean, with 1's and a TS chip, chances are your EGT's won't really be getting that out of hand (especially if you get a good tow tune) most run fine with 1's and no I/C.... just food for thought. may want to get some mods done, then see what your egt's are doing while you tow/haul whetever you use your truck for. If your egt's are becoming a problem, then you can slap the I/C in there. Just my .02
ALSO before you start modding anything, make sure you get yourself a set of gauges. Pyrometer at minimum. Most go boost, trans temp, pyrp (auto) or just boost and pyro if manual trans
I have been doing some research there is a kit that is just the plumbing for this application , a buddy of mine bought the kit and got an 03 I/C and put in his 97 The kit was around 250.00 and a I/C out of the junk yard a lot cheaper than a whole I/C kit .
I don't think I will ever do any crazy mods, mostly the ones I've talked about. I will wait and see what the mods do first then if I need to i will look for a intercooler setup.
