It must be a regional thing. There's plenty of places here in So. Cal where you can get a cheap alignment ($50). It's not rocket science, and the Ranger doesn't need a 4-wheel alignment. They probably expect to be able to sell you some other service (Your ball joints are worn out!), but if you're doing your own work that's no problem.

 

Powersmoked, yes 50 bucks is still the going rate for a front end alignment in many parts of this country, not everyone lives in California where they probably stick you with an hour of labor for just walking into the office of a repair garage. Actually, I can get a front end alignment for $35 to $40 in many places here in the South

 

Thanks Joe, but like I said the real reward is your truck is riding correctly and it is fixed. Also Hopefully somepeople will understand that you should always try to look for yourself before taking it to a shop. Glad your truck is quiet. Have a good one.
