A few questions

Question A few questions

Here is the first one , i went to order a sway bar bushing braket off of lmc
truck and next to the braket it said diesel w/ super cooling and diesel wo/
super cooling how do if i have super cooling or not what is super cooling ?

No.2 I tightend the bolts on my tranny oil pan too much and damaged the pan i was looking at one on ebay and it was crome and had a drain plug and it said it was deeperthan the stock pan and it was a upgraded part anyone have opinions about thedeeper tranny pans should i just get stock depth or should i go with the deeper pan?

And my last question my truck is idling at really low rpm's it idles a little lower than the 500 rpm line it takes a bit of reving and warming the engine for a good 5min to get it to idle at that, because if i dont at start up it will be so slow it will cut itself off is there something i need to replace or adjust to fix that, it isnt because it is cold it was around 80 F when i
started it, but i havent started it in 2 months would that have something to do with me taking so long to get it where it didnt cut itself off , it normally idles that low though is that normal ?

Good first question, i've wondered that my self.

Deeper tranny pans i've heard are better, they hold move oil volume.


And are you sure the engine is really idling at 500RPM? Or is that what your tach says?

Mine to some times the tach would go below 500RPM, and sometimes while driving it would bounce all over the place once in a while.

that is what the tach said , obviously they are not acurate ?
how could i get accurate rpm's, a after market tach?
The engine is real slugish at start up and take a bit to get it to where i can let it idle is there a way
to fix that ?
I was thinkin there was somthing up with the tach because like you said some times it is just all over the place
it is the only guage i have to go off of for the rpms though. well at least for now,

It's just the tach sensor getting tired of showing bare wire where it connects.


No big deal, they are very accurate when they work fine.

Fot the tranny pan did u tighten it and make it bend a bit? I've done that as well I just gently hammer it flat and has worked perfectly fine.

ya i bent it a little , i thought about doing that but i decided i would rather have a new one with a drain plug, the old one was a little rusty on the outside to i will just keep it as a spare.
