Noticed my battery was getting weak. So I went to AutoZone again late Saturday night
and bought a top of the line 8 year Duralast for $114.99.
The old one was just a little over 3 years old and I returned it to them Sunday morning. After they pro-rated
the unused 5 years of the warranty and issued me a refund, the new battery only ended up costing me $50.
ive never had success with the retail parts places. they are trying to compete for lowest pricve and ususally have crap stuff. im in the repair business and between az and Advance, Im kept busy replaceing their parts with good ones.
i have a gel Die Hard only because there isnt an optima dealer nearby. my batteiries have been replaced every 3.5 yrs before this one. love this one.
Replaced the ugly mis-matched wrong-sized oldies with goldtop Autozones on my new (used 2003) F350 in front of winter since it was having obvious trouble in the fall - we've had several days in a row of subzero (F) temps and I have had no problems
i've been going with walmart batterys for awhile now. after my optima in my explorer lasted 4 years and had never been run down. ever. so for $89 i have 1150CCA and 3 year free replacment at any walmart.
just replaced my factory motorcraft battery in my excursion lol it was time after 9 years.
Beat? Maybe not, but Costco does a great job of honoring their battery warrantee, no questions asked.
Their batteries for my diesels run $89 bucks per.

I bought 2 batteries a little over a year ago for my 6.0. My alternator went out a few weeks ago taking out both batteries with it. I took the both batteries back to Costco and were replaced with no questions asked.
I'm glad to hear Autozone has good service on their Duralast batteries, as I just bought the same one for the wife's Jeep. Good to hear some places still value customer service
i have 4 different vehicles so i am trying 4 different brands Sears, Duralast, interstate and Energizer (they said it should keep going gong going) !!!!! In 3 of the ford trucks they had replacement ford batteries that last about 4 years each. So iam just trying something different in each and see which has the best service.
Funny, I read this post yesterday afternoon, then went out to a dead battery myself. I wonder how old this motorcraft battery is? I've only had this X for a year. Couldn't see any markings that would identify a date. Its on the charger now. Probably replace it tonight.
