Is that 1.5 mpg real time or hand calculated? Or are you referring to using the gauge as an indicator of trend and not actual?
Previous to the Ultra-Guage install I was seeing 11MPG tanks (hand calculated, I keep a notebook, my XLT doesn't have a Lie-O-Meter) Now with the U-G taking care of the flight engineer duties I am seeing 12.5MPG tanks, and it's been colder with it than before it, so I'm hoping to see even better when/if the weather ever warms up. The most interesting improvement I've found is watching the "Absolute throttle position %" and how just lifting about 1 or 2 % while cruising on the highway will net a pretty decent (3 to 5) instant MPG increase, with almost no loss of speed. Watching the guage will also convince you to NOT use Cruise Control.........
Remember the U-G doesn't actually make the changes, thats up to you and your right foot!

Thanks! So, the improvement is shown on the UG but what about hand calculated?

I'm seeing the increase on both, the U-G is still reporting just a little high, I haven't "calibrated" it yet using highway mileposts and/or actual gas pumped at fill ups, so it's reporting full tanks (39-41 gallons at fill ups) at .5 MPG higher than my hand calculated MPG. When I parked it at work tonight it was showing 12.9 MPG, it was at 13.3 before the wife had it for the day yesterday. That always drops the average!
Well I just bought an Ultra-Gage. I have been checking my mileage "10% short" based on a Garmin GPS and with the V10 2wd, 3.73 gears and 35 wheels with a 4 inch lift I am getting 11.2 around town and close to 16 on freeway trips. I am anxious to try this out and post improvements.
