Question Promised Pict

Many congratulations were offered when my truck came in and requests for a picture. Now that I have attachment rights, the file is too big. The original was 5.35 meg and I was able to reduce to 2.5 meg. Max JPEG is 1.95 meg, any suggestions?

Lots of folks use Picasa for a place to store and show pics in cyberspace.

If you happen to have a Mac/Apple just open iPhoto, select edit and save-as, you get a menu where you can select size and quality which both allow you to lower the size of the data. Photoshop on a PC can do the same thing.

I use photobucket.com myself.

If you have a PC the stock Microsoft Paint program (under accessories in the start menu) can do your re-sizing. Open up your picture in there and re-size using the "resize/skew" tool in the Image drop down. I usually do 25% of original and it comes out about right for posting on the site here (my camera is 5mp if that helps any).

Re-name the file before you save it otherwise you will re-save the original as 25%.

When you load it online make sure you use the 25% re-sized one. Then copy the direct link over here and paste it in the image upload tool (the icon on the toolbar in the window where you can type that looks like a square envelope with a mountain and a stamp). This will load the image in to your post. If you post the direct link we can click on the link, but the picture won't show up unless you go through the image tool or manually type the necessary HTML code to bring the picture over.
