hey guys, im replacing my fuel tank and was wanting some opinions. should i just replace it with another factory tank or should i get an old school cylinder tank and put it in the bed next to the cabin?
i prefer the fac tory tank plasements....the incab tank is fine solong as the seals and hoses are sealed up good... fumes in the cabs are a bad no-no... the under frames are nice solong as the trucks not a dedicated rock crawler... a buddyb uses a 75 gal. semi tank in custom brackets in the bed of his superduty for long trips with his toy hauler but onl;y as a an auxillery and is removed after the trip...
Well this is gonna be more of a street strip cruiser truck. Haven't decided exactly what direction it'll end up. Possibly rat rod. And I wouldn't put it in cab. Either in bed or stock replacement. I just like the look of tbucket fuel tanks.
given that fact and the fact that the tbucket tanks don't hold alot i'd either put a factory in it or a 16 gal fuel cell under the bed in the back...you can get them setup for street/strip with provisions for fuel sender and proper ford resistance unit....
if your going to the ratrod look... mount it in the bed...
if your doing a st/drag def a fuelcell
if your doing a show or weekend driver just replace stock location....
i just went though this with mine. i went with a 38 gal fueltank in stock location... now i have to get a part time to fill up my tank... but worth it it last a lot longer.
