8200 LB package

Tonight I built an XLT 4x4 Reg Cab on the price and build site and added the 8200 lb package for GP's. The new 7 lug wheels are very nice looking compared to last years offerings.

If I were looking for a reg cab truck I would most definitely get the 8200 lb package. This thing is a beast.

Yes but you have you have to get the 8' box no matter which cab configuration you get. The Scab and 8' box is a lot of truck.

Here's one that's posted on cars.com. Not bad looking at all compared to previous years.

2011 Ford F150 XLT, $38,425 - Cars.com

Compared to previous offerings, yes. A big improvement over previous 7 lug wheels they've offered.

There are two (2) even lug wheels available for the 8200 lb package. Very nice looking compared to last years models.

All I can say is that my truck so far has done anything asked of it even with the "ugly" 2009 steel wheels. I think that if what Ford offers is not to your liking then you can have them custom made. But if you are going to use your truck as a farm/work/hunting truck forget about it (they just going to be covered in mud anyway). My little 8200 pounder just got 18 mpg in the mountains of Pennsylvania yesterday at 80 mph average. I still can't say enough about how this truck performs. Chris

I kinda wish that Ford with just give you the same axles and bolt patterns as the Super Duties when you get the 8200 package.

Then we would have plenty of wheels to pick and choose.

^^ And then you'd be ever closer to having an SD in an F150 package. They have to maintain at least some differentiation between the two lines.

I'm happy they don't put the SD axles under the F150 HD, it really doesn't need them and the ride is MUCH better on the F150.

I was under the impression that You get the 10.5" rear axle with the big payload package?
The 10.5" is a super duty rear axle

Looking at the (print) Order Guide the Heavy Duty Payload Pkg includes a 9.75" gear set.

Finally got the correct selections to trip the 7 lug wheels to show on the on-line Build & Price. My heart skipped a beat for a minute when the description for the 17" alum 7-lug wheel said "Standard on FX4." While I agree they are better looking than previous 7-lug wheels, they aren't the wheels I want on my truck. I like the (what's called out everywhere else) Std 18" FX4 wheels. The (print) order guide doesn't even have a pic of the 17" Alum 7-luggers in it, wheel was tbd at print time. I'm guessing some one did a "cut & paste" for the on-line description and got it wrong.....
1st pic is 17" alum 7-lug
2nd pics is Std FX4 18"

It had the 10.5 rear end till the 09 arrived. They have a 9.75, but its stronger than the other 9.75s in the lower gvwr F150s.

Any stronger they'd have to be full floating axles and the extra weight would offset payload. How ironic.
