running like crap
my truck has been running like crap lately, it will just die driving down the road. i got to looking and the o2 senser is un-pluged and the wires on the sensor are burnt, the po must have done this. the truck ran fine for a day or two before it started acting up. will the o2 senser cause this or should i keep looking for another problem?

yes it is the 93.driving down the road the truck will just die on me , i let off the gas and it will start back up and be fine for a few hundred feet and do the same thing. it does this at no specific speed, rpm, or throttle position that i know can tell

My 94 did the same thing. a buddy of min has a 94 also and his computer went out and mine was doing the same things his was. turns out all it needed was cap and rotor. plugs and wires (i recomend autolight platnum and autolight professional wires) and i had to do a fuel pump in my front tank. give the tuneup a shot and see how that goes for ya.

From everything I've heard, regular cheapie autolite/motorcraft copper core sparkplugs are what these trucks seem to like;
To add to it, supposedly the platinum plugs won't melt down to prevent damage, whereas the copper cores will.
You should definitely fix the O2 sensor though, if for no other reason that it was designed to work with it, rather than without it;
Remember to check your codes though, even though the check engine light might not be lit, it can still have codes that can help pinpoint the problem.

iv got a friend with a 91 and he has no O2 sensor or cats. true duel exhaust and his truck purrs like a kitten. O2 sensors usually only make it run a little rich or a hair lean depending on what they read.

motorcraft plugs and wires. i just pulled 3 plugs and all had verry minor carbon build up nothing more than normal, but they had a slight smell of un-burnt fuel i think that some how i am getting to much fuel and it is flooding the motor mabey??
