So its a 96 automatic 49 state truck? Does the wait to start light come on when you try to start it?
YES , it is a stock f250 no mods as far as I know (bought used)
the WTS light comes on for about 20 seconds the glow plugs stay on for almost 2 minutes
and
I just replace all 8 of them Had 5 bad ones out of the 8
when this all started a month ago it ran for 30 minutes or so and stall (like someone shut the key off)
I have change the
fuel filter
CPS
glow plugs
glow plug wires (to fix broken clips and wires just twisted together)
IPR
engine oil (to fix a gallon over full condition from adding to the HPOP )
another CPS
PCM
From what I gathered from the Napa site they are programmed by the calibration code. That is the 6A-90 identifier you mentioned. So yes it is flashed. They are re- manufactured and are relatively inexpensive.

I replaced my ecm with a re-man a little while ago and they typically come flashed with all updates. In my case, they wanted the actual code off my old ECM. For him, I think the ECM is fine.
My picking would be wiring first to check, if everything checks out fine then in my mind, I would look at the IDM of being the fault. Just because it does not have water it could still be at fault. Is it possible you could switch with someone from another truck and test???

Does anyone have a wiring diagram or know where the wires from the CPS go to ?? The wiring harness looks in good shape (all the wires are in the plasric cover and all taped up like from the factory. ) If I know where they come out on the other end I will OHM meter them.
