So the story on this truck is its a 75 jerry rigged high boy i bought off some hill billys down south.. im slowly restoring and modding the ol girl.
For the longest i have had my reverse lights hooked up to a toggle switch and i was wondering how i can get the reverse lights working right, i was told the issue can be in the column or a toggle switch on the C6..
I have replaced the column and internals so that's ruled out, what can be the problem? I'd like to get them working right, do you know anything subject?
your 2 cents are welcome..
ranger429 thanks for pointing that out the turn signal switch came from a 75 2wd.
77&79F250 i know exactly what your talking about thank you, its a sunny day ill see what i can do.
Good thing you mentioned that i game the search a second chance on google this time and some folks were mentioning fuses.. and welp i found a blown fuse!!! im heading to pick n pull now haha
I now have one reverse light working i found a 77 2wd auto with the NSS in the bed of the truck i picked it up just to see if it was the existing NSS causing the problems. connected it up and put her in R and one light was lit!
my neighbor stopped by with some connection cleaner and called it a night.
thank for the help fellas..
Yeah thats a problem in our trucks, Ford didnt believe in applying dielectric grease to connections, so expect to have to clean connections and allpy grease...Personally, i have no backup lights atm, since mine was mounted on the column in the engine compartement at the shifter linkage and since the 3 on the floor conversion, it has just been dangling there... Actually on the 79 that was stolen from me I had a bad backup switch and instead of paying the high cost of a new one, my broke self SAWED the switch open carefully, fixed the connections and resealed it I readjusted the clearance to the thing that pushes the switch and it worked like a charm for years!
P.S Total cost was 1c....The penny i superglued to the shifter linkage where it touches the switch!!!!!!
mech said on mine was the neutral safety it acts as both... and i had to replace it on my 74... also didnt help wires were old and brittle and bad ground. so def check all those.
