e4od

does any body know if i can take a e4od out of a 1993 4wd and adapt it 2 a 1994 2wd van and will the electronics work between the 2 years any info would be appreciated

The electronics should be fine. You'll need to completely tear down both transmissions and swap the output shafts. A 4x4 output shaft will not work in a 2wd van.

yes i understand the 4x4 will not work yet dont you just have to take the tailshaft housing off the 2wd and install on the other one and thanks for the help its greatly appreciated i would really prefer to not having to tear apart the whole case

As MK says you have to swap the tailshaft as well as the housing.

You can just swap the extension housings without much work, but to get the driveshaft to mate to the transmission you have to tear it down and swap the output shaft.

By the way, the output shaft is the last thing to come out of an E4OD.....
