Usually once they start they do not stop. I would probably order one up, to have on hand.

You may want to call Absolute Bus Sales They sell a water pump for the 7.3L for $77. You may want to ask them what brand they are though.

Here is what they say:
Ford 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel Water Pump

We also sell a replacement for Ford's water pump for the same motor in a Ford chassis which would be part number F6TZ-8501A pictured below. Our price on this pump is $77. please call for bulk pricing.
As far as the 203* t-stat you will get mixed answers. I looked at doing that a few years ago, but decided not to do it based on mixed feelings. Having the 203* in during the winter is a good idea, but for the summer maybe not. It really depends on what you do and want for your truck. Guys running big oil are seeing higher oil temps, so they look at lowering the t-stat temp to keep the oil cooler. I do not think you can go wrong with either set-up, so really it is about shelling out the dough for the parts.

I was seeing higher EOT's in the summer with the 203* stat and changed back to the 195*. I had no problems running the 203* until it was noted that my temps were running a bit too high during live tuning. Had I been monitoring the EOT beforehand, I would have probably changed it sooner. Ambient temps are warmer here and they now seem to be in check since going back to the stock stat. Just my 2 cents.

Yes, there is an o-ring on that flange.

OEM P/N is F81Z8255AA or it is an AS568-141 o-ring if you look for it locally.

depending on what the PART #9 is made from (mine is cast iron) you could have a pinhole leak through the casting. Mine wouldn't leak until it got to operating pressure. T'were a pain to find also.
