My Dad has given me his 1960 Ford F-100 and I want to start taking it to shows but I need to find out just where I can find a couple of door lock retention clips. I did find them from LMCTruck.com but they want twice the price just for shipping! Isn't there someplace that has them for less than $7.50S&H? They are just a metal clip that could be put into an envelope for mailing!
Welcome to the site and we would like to see some pictures of your truck. Shipping is expensive and if $7.50 is all you have to be concerned about you're luckier than most, I've got a few thousand rapped up in shipping with all the parts I've had to buy and I'm not finished yet so I'd gladly trade you shipping charges, lol
As soon as I can get it out of the shed and cleaned up I will post some. As it stands, the truck has been parked for 9yrs and there might be some things that needs to be fixed (I.E. Breaks that might be locked up)
For those of you requesting Pictures, I will get them as soon as I can. Right now it is sitting under a carport in my dad's backyard that is very soft from all the rain.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> <o></o> The truck is not 100% Ford anymore. Dad built an engine and then went looking for something that it would fit in. That turned out to be a 1960 Ford F-100. The engine is a 1968 472cid Cadillac that has been balanced and blue printed with aftermarket blower pistons. The block & heads have been O-ringed and using copper head gaskets. He built his own induction system to accommodate the twin Rajay Turbos. The exhaust exits via 5” flex exhaust pipe into the front tire wells down into a set of Corvette side pipes. The trans is a B&M Stick Hydro connecting to one of two rearends depending on what he was going for that weekend. One is the original 9” and the other is a Dana 60.<o></o> <o> </o> He built it back in the early 70’s and since then has added a hydraulic system under the bed so that it is now a dump bed. He has added two aftermarket hood scoops that he wanted to use for trans and oil cooling but just the weight of the scoops has made the hood too heavy for the original hood springs. They still look very cool just as they are. If anyone has a lead on some heaver hood springs we would be interested. The other thought is to put in a hydraulic lift for the hood.<o></o> <o> </o> So that is where we stand on the truck and I will post pictures as soon as things dry out some.<o></o>
DARKSIDERS UNITE!!!!!!!!!!! This truck sounds VERY cool. Even a die-hard FORD nut like myself can appreciate such a set-up... twin-turbo 472 Caddy..... WOW
