We had a ramp set up and had made several passes just looking to see how high we could get. Things were going swimmingly until I picked up my sister's bike and made the jump.
You don't understand physics when you're 10 years old. It turned out that the bar that is most of the difference between boys and girls bikes is functional and without it the landing forces result in the frame bending sufficiently that the pedal(s) now hit the ground.
We were able to take the car jack and push things back to about where they were when we started.
