Would someone be so kind as to post some pictures of the linkage needed for three strombergs on top of a flathead 239ci? I have the linkage but need to see it, also, would appreciate a photo of the linkage running to the gas pedal. Thanks in advance. If it is important to know, only the center carb with be running. Don't tell anyone.
Why not set up all three and use progressive linkage? Set the dumpers to come on at 3/4 throttle. Normal driving will have you using two barrels, but put your foot into it, and you invite a pair of twins to the party. If you set on running the single, just set your linkage on as it would be for the real deal. It is a progressive linkage, with the sliders, is it not?
Is this engine in the original vehicle? I only ask because in most 3X2s, the center carb is about where the original single carburetor sat, and is actuated by the stock linkage on the stock throttle arm. The linkage that operated the two end carburetors is connected to the center and end carburetors on the passenger side.
You'll have to forgive my homemade linkage (it is not aligned in the picture), but you should get the idea. An attaboy to anyone that can tell me the difference between the primary and secondary carburetors in the picture.

Confusing... you have accel pumps on the outboard carbs but not the center? (Maybe just not fully assembled yet?) Choke on center only, pretty normal. (Edit -- you've ground off the choke lever boss on the outers! nice job)

No, not yet

Bingo, that and the kicker boss.
I've got to plug the vacuum passages in the dumper bases, then acquire/install secondary butterflies, and finish assembly. Then I've got to cut and whittle on a hexagon chunk for the fuel log, drill/tap for fittings, make an aluminum bracket for aforementioned log, and polish/bend stainless tubing for hardlines. Then I shall attempt to peddle it.
Thank you so much for the photos. My two dummy carbs on the outside are not totally rebuilt. Long story behind their history, will share some time. In short, my Dad ran whiskey as a kid, and the two were on a flathead, in a roadster. They are on my engine as sentimental value. Thanks

I can certainly understand your intentions! Neat idea for a tribute, very fitting.
Little EGO, you're really lookin' fine
Three deuces and a three-speed and a 239
Listen to her tachin' up now, listen to her why-ee-eye-ine
C'mon and turn it on, wind it up, blow it out EGO
P.S. My first engine rebuild was a flathead V8 back in ’64; it had aluminum heads, three deuces, aluminum intake, and aluminum flywheel. It was in a 1941 Ford and we planned to run it in C modified at the strip. Never made it but I learned a lot. It was too long ago to remember the linkage setup, sorry!
