I think this thing got pulled out of being stuck by the steering linkage. How hard is it in put in new tie-rods ends? The other side looks ok, think I should do both anyways? I was thinking of getting new sleeves too, to be nice to the mechanic that will be doing the alignment.
Tie rod end replacement is fairly straightforward. Proper tools are needed including a pickle fork to remove the old ends. Just be sure to count the number of rotations to remove & that will give you a good starting point for the initial setup of your new ends & the trip to the alignment shop.
Also, by the looks of the cracks/weather checks in the sidewall of that tire I hope you are also shopping for new rubber.
