Talking Yeah i'm new.

Hey all, i am USAFCrewChief. I'm currently active duty Air Force stationed at Little Rock AFB, AR. Today i became the proud owner of an 84 Bronco, which is why i am here. This site seems to be the best by far that i could find for Broncos. The rig has got a 351m and an auto trans. So yeah basically just wanted to do the intro thing, and i will probably think of a million questions to ask in the next few days, so I imagine you will see me on here regularly. Thanks everybody!

That's what i was told when i bought it, but after looking around on the internet i think it's a windsor. It has "5.8 Liter 4v H.O." on the air cleaner, which was a windsor motor, right? Don't hate me but all i know is SBC stuff haha. It would be a c6 trans then?

Yep, thats a 351W. And if its a 3-speed auto its a C6. And don't worry about your knowledge base... the comment in my signature is one many of us stand behind.

that motor was a good one to boot. had decent output for a carbed setup. it will respond well to an upgraded exhaust, headers etc...

Good to know. The single pipe exhaust definitely isn't cutting it. I was thinking probably headers and 2 1/2" duals, Performer intake and a smallish cam. Anyone know about how much lift the stock heads can take? Also, it needs the oil changed, and im not sure what oil to use. Will 10W30 be fine, or do 351w like something different?

A good 3" single will achieve just as acceptable results. I only mention this because with the front driveline, transfer case, skid plates, etc. that are scattered all over the undercarriage make running true duals challenging. Not impossible (especially if you run two side-by-side in the OEM routing) but challenging.
