Ya it should hold about 8 gallons and I'm sure yours was empty, right? I don't have any good tips for you though Chris, I thought it would work its way out pretty easy.

Just throwin crap out here, wonder if a guy can loosen one of the plugs in the block, put a clean drain pan under it and fill from up top at the same time, then tighten/replace plug and put coolant in you drained out?? Probably stupid idea, like I said, throwin crap out there..

8 gallons.. Hmm.. I think I am at 6 now, LOL! Yes, the entire system was drained. The resavior tank has coolant in it, just not enough in the block I am guessing. I hate working air out of these things

I may have to give that plug trick a shot.. Hmmmmmm!

mine has been dripping for probably a year now and OCCASIONALLY it will leave a puddle on the ground, but generally its not even enough to drip between drives

Have you pulled the belt to see how much play is in the pump? You really don't want it to come apart and go thru the radiator. Be worth checking for sure if you haven't.

Working air out should be very simple.. Your t-stat probably just is refusing to open making it a PITA.

I got at mine without removing the starter and rigged up something to keep most of the water off of the starter. It would be easier without the starter but iirc I was able to leave it in.

get a 3/8 thread male air fitting and slip a piece of 3/8 hose onto it then as soon as you pull the plug out, thread that thing in by hand. I always drain mine that way by using the block drains. It's relatively clean. I have a 3/8 thread petcock valve for the drains next time and I'm leaving it in.

I've never had a problem with that Chris, that's really strange. I just pour it in until its full, never any air pockets.

Yeah.. come to find out, bad T stat! LOL! I fussed with it for a bit, couldnt get it to fill, ran it till it got warm (gauges are another issue), and still wouldnt take more. I put in a new stat and it filled up like a dream! Runs cooler too!
