I have read many pages here on issue of levling trucks. What concerns me most is the pics I see of the drive axles angles.
My question is if my stock 2005 runs a 265/70r17 tire and I level it with a 2 to 2.5" kit and change my rim and tire size to 28565r20 will this help to keep angles more level.I need some help here and if anyone has done this mod please respond .Pics would be appriecated.
Tire size won't change the angles back to normal. You could go with a 1.5" or 2" leveling kit. That way it won't increase the angles as much as a 2.5" or a 3" kit. I have a 2" AutoSpring leveling kit and nothing rubs and I haven't worn out any front end parts yet.I got rid of the ugly factory rake, so it's all good.
I second the suggestion to drop down to a 1-2" level instead of the 3". It seems that each truck reacts just a little differently to a level kit. Some report many thousands of miles on a 3" kit without wear, whereas others aren't so lucky.
A 2" level will clear a 275/65/20 or maybe a 285/65/20.
NASSTY you're running a 305/55/20 correct?
