Fuel problems
Have a truck that keeps running out of fuel. I change the filter every 3000 miles. Last filter only went 1500 and I ran the bowl out. Put in new filter and 4 days later the bowl ran out again. Is this a sending unit problem? Maybe pump?

Welcome to FTE.
Sounds like the fuel pump is going out on ya or the mixing screens in the tank are clogged.
Have you turned the key on to see if the pump will run for 20 seconds and pump fuel into the bowl?

Last night I ran out on the freeway. Cops pushed me off the road. I took off the bowl cap and pulled the filter. Turned the key on and the bowl started to fill up. I put the cap back on without the filter and it started up and got me home. This is the second time in 8 days this has happened

This will get rid of the stopped up mixing chamber socks if you decide that is your problem.Sure sounding like it.
