5star tune by mike
its like a toatly different truck now...she really screams but is there anything else i can do to get alittle more out of her? i dont tow its just my daily driver. all i can think of is a intake and headers and re-gear the axles to 4:30s unless ya'll can think of somthing else?
even if theres nothing more to gain...i'm very happy with it.
check around they don't make v10 blower kits any more.
sorry guy you can spend a bundle trying to get more out of the v10. some items will make you think you got a bit more, but brass tacks on a dyno you got very little. i spent close to $3.000 on my 05's motor. i mean cak, exhaust, headers, you name it we tryed it. on the rollers we found only 15 hp more, infact we wound up reinstalling all the stock items . what did help was a regear to 4;30 from 4;10's.the regear got me 3 mpg's better on the highway. she pulled loads better. just out right was the truck i should have ordered when i did, it was dumb on my part not to listen to fredvon4 who said get 4;30's and order it with 4;10 thinking higher was better for the hw.
regearing to 4:30 will be your best move, the rest a waste of cash, infact not to insult any one put a exhaust back under it, the v10 needs back pressure to run right,
its got plenty of backpressure, sounds amazing and it def helped her breath little better. after the tune i noticed the big differance. the exhaust helped the upper end a good bit also.
yeah i figured i was pretty much deadlocked. she sure moved a hell of alot quicker then stock that i know.
damn...time to save for gear swaps and a detroit trutrac...$$

never done, you can twin turbo anything man! or throw a nitros shot in there
I'll bet it would be cheaper to find axles with the 4.30 gears already in them than to regear. When I had my 94 f150 last spring, I looked into regearing to 4.10's and with labour it was going to cost $2500. If you bought a set of axles with the 4.30 gears in already, you could sell your originals and only be out the labour, if you paid someone to do it. Do it yourself and you're only out the cost of the beer!
If your able to do the axle swap yourself I see no reason why you can't do the gear change yourself. The axles would probably need parts and have a worn out LSD also. A little knowledge and some tools can go a long way.
gears aint that hard to set up read up on it while your waiting for the gearsets to come in, ive done several it aint nothing but knowing what to do and have the right tools..
Performance mods are never tapped out! the only limits are your wallet.
I like the idea, especially in my own case, of getting spare housings, and doing the gears "on the bench" instead of under the truck. That way, you can "pretty-fie" the housings easily too
As for "doing the gears" themselves, just do yourself a BIG FAVOR.
Always, and I do mean ALWAYS check the tooth contact pattern, not just backlash.
v10 mods are taped out man, they never made that many parts to begin with for them, pretty much cak's, tuners, headers and exhaust's. they did make blowers for the 2 v but never for a 3v model. but several years back both companies stoped making the kits, not a very popular motor like 4.6 or a 5.3 and a psd. so your very much on to build your own items.
now Nox. never in one of these v10's the powder steel forged rods and short skirt cast pistons can't handle the extra power.
yes you could build a twin turbo. but the low end can't handle the extra push for very long,it never was that strong. rods, pistons and crank are weak. the crank loves to crack by the off sets for the rods.
