i just installed 35X12.5 tired on my bronco, when i turn the rub on the plastic peice on the bottom of the bumper..does anyone know how to remove that peice without breaking it? i don't want the tires ripping it off..thanx in advance
Hey!
I have the same size tires and instead of drilling every rivet out he is right just get a sharp knife and cut a few inch. out of it. it is a soft plastic it was a 2 min job and it made a huge difference.
Just trim the part closest to the tire. There's a line where the plastic piece starts to turn in (more of a seam), it makes a good guide, and keeps the curve of the bumper. With a sawsall it'll take about 30 second to do the whole thing.
i have that same rubber piece on the bottom of my bumper. mine is held on with plastic rivits, that are easily removed with a flat head screw driver and some downward force.
Forget that stupid plastic valence. I just cut tore enough of mine off that I could get it stuck under the tire, then drove forward and let the truck tear the rest of it off. Just get rid of the whole piece. It makes the front stance look so much better.
rip it off, rip it off, rip it off, rip it off, rip it off,...and anyway ..looks better.....plastic is weak... does not make truck look tough....just my opinion
