I installed 2.5” spacers under the front coil springs on my 04 f250. Re used the old shocks. Had the truck aligned they installed new camber bushings. Drove the truck home and steering darts, had bump steer and when turning left or right the steering wheel didn’t want to come back to center I would have to pull it back.
Took the truck back to the alignment shop they loosen the pinch bolts on the camber bushing a little and told me that the problem is that my upper ball joints are not moving because they are factory and non greasable and that in time they should move to where they need to be. ( sounds like a line to me but who knows). Anyway after this visit to the shop the steering is a little better but the problem is still there.
Has anyone else had these issues and what is the fix??
Thank you
I have a leveling kit on my 2wd, 03, F250 and I have no issues at all. I think they are feeding you a line, but I dont have any idea what might be causing your problem?
Sounds to me like they got the caster way off. Did they give you a print out of the alignment settings? If so let us know what camber, caster, and toe settings they used.
[QUOTE=Truck Paradise;9970849]As long as that's a +3.1 on caster, which it almost has to be, that blows my theory out of the water. Back to the drawing board.[/QUOT
Yes it is....Thank you for your input...I was hopeing you were on to something.
What do you think about the shocks..It was tuff getting them back on. Too short maybe..
Too short of a shock would give you a really jarring ride, don't think that's what is causing your steering binding. Is there another shop you could take it too for another opinion.
