Rear axle code question
I am looking through the vin plates i have from my dent parts trucks to see if any of them have a decent rear end for my current project, and on my 79 f100 short bed the axle code is 06J.
I have this site saved for decoding vins. 1973-1979 Ford Truck VIN Tag Codes (Rear Axle) - FORDification.net
And on there a 06 rear axle code is either a 3.70 for a 75 or a 2.75 for a 77.
My question is what ratio is the rear end on my truck when its a 79 and the only codes on there for an 06 rear end are a 75 or 77 truck?
