total novice needs help
ok, here's the long and short of it, i love my ranger, its a 92 xlt with the 3.0. At close to 180,000 miles, its starting to need some replacements done. It still runs good, but not great. but hey, with its mileage, i can't complain. my problem, i don't know how to upgrade parts. i can get the original factory "standard", but have to trust the guy at the parts store for that info. where do i find a resource listing 1) the original parts, and 2) how to upgrade for better performance? i don't like trusting the pimply little kid at the counter to find parts for my baby, and if i can boost the horses a little, all the better. help!?! is there a book/resource like that???

you can get catalogs that will have parts for your ranger. factory replacment all the way up to roastin the tires all the way down the quarter mile track. clutches, engine parts, suspension, trannys, you name it they pretty much have it. One of these good ones is Northern Auto parts, thats where our engine parts come from. And there is J.C. Whitney,and Summit. and alot more. I'm pretty sure they have web sites with the names I just gave you that you can go to and find parts, cheap parts, cheaper than most parts stores can get for you. I build motors and this is where i get all my parts from.
