Front Suspension Question?

Is the steel plate under the front axle, that the U-bolts connect to, under any spring pressure? Basically, can I remove that plate without taking the weight off the leaf spring?

If you are referring to the plate that the front sway bar mounts to, and the ubolts go through, then yes you can take the nuts off the ubolts and take the plate off. It will make it alot easier if you unbolt the sway bar drop links on each side of the sway bar.

I didn't think it would be a problem, but wanted to check. The front sway bar mount is actually the problem. Thanks!

No problem, the springs and all will stay in place on the axle as long as the weight of the truck is on it, there is a 1/2'' dowel on the bottom of the springs that goes into a hole on the flat bracket thats welded to the axle tube. Goodluck on the fix man!
