pull motor for headers??
Hey all! I gotta '97 f150 ext cab, 5.4 4x4 auto. Its got about 208k and a horrible exh leak. I figgered id start at the manifold and work my way back. Would I have to pull the motor to install some shorty headers? Emmision laws are pretty much a punch line around here and a buddy of mine swears he can get the software to pretty much delete downstream o2 sensor programming, negating need for those two sensors and the cat too. Im going for as free flow a system as possible, but am really not wanting to pull the motor. What ya think? Thanks!

No,
you don't need to pull the motor to install headers.
Jack up the truck and remove the inner fender plastic ,the tire and put it on a jack-stand.. Then go in from the side of the truck to work on it.
